Gerrit Rietveld was born and raised in Utrecht. He came into the world on Ooftstraat, had his furniture workshop on Adriaen van Ostadelaan and designed buildings at several locations in the city. This walking route takes you past the key Rietveld sites.

About the route

The basic route is approximately five kilometres and starts and ends at the Centraal Museum. Along the way, you'll see Rietveld's furniture workshop and of course the Rietveld Schröder House. If you'd like to learn more about Rietveld and Schröder's life together, you can extend the route by another five kilometres. In that case, you may prefer to go by bicycle.
